This is one of three promotional bookmarks, the other two being done by Zowolf and Myenia, that we are handing out at cons. The next stop is Califur. So if you are attending, please do snag one from Thornwolf, whom will be distributing them there!
Pre-orders for the 2010 calendar will begin on Sept 1st of this year and we are all very excited about the crew of artists we have on staff this year!
I will upload the image Sans text at a later date C:

This may or may not be a little off topic but how do you get into a project like this? Does someone just come up with idea and ask their friends or is it advertised somewhere...? I'd love to be invited to do a collaborative project like this but always seem to miss the casting call.
A looot of projects are by invite only buuuut what I always suggest to people is to contact the organizers of projects they see and ask if they can be considered for participation. The worst that they can say is No, but at least you would have asked! And for projects that return year after year, at least you would have made your name familiar to the moderators of said project and they may be more likely to consider you come the next edition. Also a lot of projects are announced in artist journals and there are those that start off as invite only but because they may have never seen your work when writing their invites, they may extend you an invite if you ask. In short, never hurts to ask. You can't get too down on yourself if you get some 'no's..just don't take it personally and keep asking! C:
when I was at an earlier stage of my artistic development, I used to get sooo bummed out with not getting invited into these things, aww XD
I directed my first portfolio over the last few years, and intend to do more. Artists are selected not only based on their illustrative skills(composition, anatomy, etc) but professionalism aswell(example: making deadlines, easy to communicate with and so on). I usually tend to go for artists Ive had good experiences with, and of course their ability to put an illustration together. Not all of them happen to be close friends.
"I'd love to be invited to do a collaborative project like this but always seem to miss the casting call. " Most portfolios are invite only, usually for the reasons Ive already stated above.
But dont worry, :) , like balaa says it never hurts to ask.

Thanks for the tips. =) I suppose since I'm still fairly new and I'm meeting some of these artists for the first time, I can't be too hard on myself for not getting much attention...I seem to always be catching the tail end of their projects and of course by then its too late to join in. Who knows, a few years from now when people know me better I'll probably have my art featured a bit more.
apologies, we are having issues with the server and are trying to sort it out. The calendar wip images can still be accessed at: http://www.werewolfcalendar.com/webimages10.htm
I love how realistic your style comes along - the detail in fur... - the clouds *sigh* why couldn't I have been born into a different family ^^"" - then I'd be better by now. You just like Sekhmet and Ebryn belong to my top-idols, I so want to be able to do quality art like this one day, though I never will, I know.
*smiles softly* Don't be so critical of yourself. If you would like to see some of my work from a few years back, check out my Lion King Fan art archive. Thats how I started and I used to think the same way as you did..but I realized believing I could never accomplish some things is what was really holding me back from exploring my potential. For that matter, don't try to improve for the sake of being 'as good as so-and-so'. Do it because you love it..and you will be surprised how fast you grow! (meant to post it as a response to your comment C: )
Well, I did have a look at your older art on dA - still amazing. But yes, you're right. Unfortunately it's been long, long ago that I did art just for me, to please me and not others or "buy" other people's "love" by it. I think I should still learn to get back to the person I once was and learn to draw from that point on. Thanks for your kind advice! You seem not only a skilled artist, but a very kind and generous person, too ^.^
