:D Prepare thyself for the tastiest simple deviled eggs you ever had. Mom's standard recipe that she's taught me because we had eggs left that would expire in three days. XD A good excuse to make a ton of food as ever.
Equipment Needed:
-Pot/pan for boiling eggs
-knife
-large spoon
-small bowl
Ingredients Needed: (This recipe makes 8 deviled eggs, multiply all ingredients to make potluck amounts ;D )
-4 large eggs
-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
-1 tablespoon of horseradish mustard
-1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
-1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
-Smoked Paprika (for sprinkling/dousing finished eggs with XD)
Step 1: Boil the eggs for about 7 minutes, just short of being hard-boiled (note! Gas stoves can be hotter, so it may take only 4-5 minutes for those).
Step 2: Remove the shells from the eggs and slice each one lengthwise, removing the yolks and placing them into your small bowl. Put the whites on a plate in your fridge to chill them.
Step 3: Mix together the eggs' yolks, mayonnaise, mustard, sea salt and pepper together in your bowl.
Step 4: Spoon liberal amounts of the yolk mixture into your egg halves until all of your mixture is used and your eggies are overflowing. Finish by sprinkling or dousing the tops in smoked paprika.
Step 5: Omnomnom.
These are my favorite deviled eggs 1) because mom makes them and 2) because I hate super-sweet deviled eggs with a fiery Southern passion. XD These are reasonably sweet, but mostly tangy and spicy.
