Nope, that's the screen protector I put on it. The DS itself is actually solid black all over.

Man, I wish I had a DS. So many interesting games coming out for it. Too bad I barely make enough money at the moment to survive... :(

Okay, now I admit I feel a bit like a heel for spending my savings on a PSP.

Oh well, a few more months and I can make amends.

'Tis worth the money. I've nothing against the PSP, but the price and lame game selection (for my tastes) drove me away. So far the only game for it I'm interested in at all is the upcoming port of Mortal Kombat: Deception.

Agreed; Ratchet and Clank and the Final Fantasy games for the PSP are all that are even remotely attractive to me-not to mention I don't really like Sony all that much...

The DS is the greatest handheld ever. I went to the Penny Arcade Expo, (Biggest gamer convention on earth) and out of the 19,000+ people there, only about 5 had PSP's. From waht I heard, they had to cancel the PSP tournament because not enough showed up. However, the DS tourny had so many people, there was a section in the parking garage for the excess people. It was insane.
I guess it doesn't help the PSP any since they decided to make less and less UMDs and games.

You can't mess with Nintendo...in the portable market. Sony has proven for the last two generations that you can mess with them in the home console market all you like. :>

I'm not surprised about the PAX thing, though. I hear very little about the PSPs online/multiplayer capabilites, while the DS seems to really build itself around those features.

I quit buying consoles after Dreamcast was discontinued, but I find myself thinking about a DS lite every time I pass the local GameStop. Maybe just a few more games I'd be interested in need to come out...
