I worked with a girl from the Philippines. She and her very Caucasian girlfriend spoke Tagalog when they wanted to bad mouth someone possibly in earshot.

I'd totally do this too if I was great at speaking another language that wasn't taught at the local school. Like Russian, or Italian.

My ex was Swedish, and obviously very fluent in it.
Being american I can't speak a lick of Swedish so whenever she would talk to her friends I'd go nuts.
Especially because we frequented chat sites, long distance relationship n all.
So it was kinda a regular occurrence for her to find someone from Sweden or have a friend join us.
