This is a short story about a very large dragon (firedrake) and a rather small anthro salamander. The setting is modern times, but they live together in a jungle, away from humanity. I mustn't say any more, lest I spoil the good part more than the thumbnail already has.
This was originally the first thing I ever uploaded to FurAffinity, back in December 2005 or so. It was recently treated to a little bit of revision, so think of it now as a 2005 story with 2009 writing quality.
I love thoughtful questions and insightful comments.

I've never been asked that before. There's no harm in offering a suggestion or request... Although, do note that I usually write quite slowly, so even if I took the idea, you might not see a return on it for a very long time.
That being said, if you have a certain request, feel free to send a note and be as detailed as you wish.

A very neat pairing of characters here KD, and I particularly like the concept of soothing calmness taming the utter, blinding rage. It makes for a good balance of personalities.
As far as the story itself goes from a vore perspective, this is a wonderful example of living on through one's predator. I think what I find most intriguing about it is all the backstory. It's not the vore here that's important, it's their relationship and history...a sharp contrast to most stories. The devouring is just a way to cement that forever, and makes for a beautiful scene. Lovely work.

Oh yes, you've summed up my intentions on this one quite nicely. One thing about that I'd like to say about Jessi and Kath is that they absolutely cannot be considered of in human terms. It's not just about lifespans or some kind of "species-wide attitude". A little of that, sure, but it's about culture too. That most of the salamanders have to stay underground for perhaps their entire short lives, and that it's a humongous blessing for Jessi to experience nature -- what she craves -- up close.
Indeed, I purposely made the vore rather brief for exactly the reason you said. The idea is, actually, that Kath and Jessi are essentially "soulmates" of different species, although Kath feels the hurt of any separation (through his bouts of draconic rage) more than Jessi does. There's only one way to make sure they're always together, as they both want to be.
I thank you greatly, for voicing your own perspective on it. Normally, I might bring up a question or two for you, but this story was relatively short by my standards, and I think you got it covered.
