Desmond Llewellyn (Q), when asked "Who is the best Bond?", he replied that the the first Bond you ever saw is the best. For me, that would be Sir Roger Moore (it was either "The Spy Who Loved Me" or "Moonraker". I forgot which one). Say what you want about him, but he was the most prolific of the Bond Actors (7 films. Connery: *6, Craig & Bronsnan: 4 each, Dalton: 2, Lazenby: 1) and his films did have some of the best title songs until the Craig era ("Skyfall" & "The Writing's On the Wall" both won Oscars). And he made the films his own, with his trademark sense of humor, panache, and class that seems to be lacking with those who followed. Outside, he was a humanitarian and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, making him a hero in real life as well as on the screen.
Now "The Saint" is with the Saints.
(It's been a hard week for us Bond fans. First the suicide of Chris Cornell, who wrote and performed the title track for "Casino Royale", and now 007 himself, right when England (and the whole world) needs him.)
"Nobody does it better
Makes me fell sad for the rest
Nobody does it, half as good as you
Baby, you're the best."
*No, "Never Say Never Again" DOES NOT COUNT!

Yeah, loved that role. Another eccentric role I will remember him for was Lord Brett Sinclair from the Persuaders. He brought just the right amount of stiffness and elegance into the role. This was actually the very first role I've seen him in (wasn't interested much in Bond movies back then) and it stuck.
P.S: ffolkes would like to have a word with you, since you misspelled his last name, he took great pride in having the honor to have his last name spelled in lower case

Roger Moore was my first Bond. I was born in 1982, during Moore's run as Bond and I still love them, because frankly, Moore's Bond movies were fun. I want my Bond movies with Moon Lasers and Claw handed villains. I don't want gritty realism, I want escapism and thats what Moore delivered in spades.
