Two days after turning herself into a living mass of chocolate, Malt sits in a hospital bed next to a tank the with liquefied remains of her legs and left arm... or at least what they were able to collect from the matter splicer.
Malt is unable to withstand temperatures greater than room temperature without melting, and unfortunately it seems that once a bit of her melts off, it can't be reattached...
That's not stopping her dessert experiments though, she's already hard at work developing a denser mint chocolate skin that can withstand hotter temperatures, protecting her milk chocolate core.
Malt is taking the loss of limb in stride (pun intended?), knowing full well robotic prosthesis will be sufficient for her work...
In the mean time she'll have to rely on Chell...her lab assistant for well....assistance...
Somehow, she hasn't been expelled from university, despite breaking a number of rules.
In fact they have rewarded her by funding her dessert research...
It turns out, Malt is the first person to successfully prove living matter can be combined in the matter splicer...without resulting in horrifying death... A feat though impossible. So she must be a smart cookie... ... ...
