Oh ok, but can you give me details on how you pan stuff (like how much to the left and right), how many guitar tracks, any EQing?

Anything that pans from left to right is recorded that way. I basically plug my instrument into a DI that connects to my computer. I use an amp sim that allows me to cut the signal in half, and split it between channels. The only post editing that I do is fading the tracks in and out. I hope this answers your question, and sorry for the vague response earlier.
That's an interesting way to do it. But you got the right idea for where the guitars should be panned. I suggest to try to do some EQing for the guitars to try and clean them up a little so that the bass (which has a great sound) can still be audible without having to push it as loud as it is. For example, you can put a high pass filter (I think that's what it's called) to remove anything below 90-100 Hz for the guitars, because the guitars do not really contribute anything in that frequency range except noise that interferes with the bass and kick (which dominate in that frequency range).
