I have a fun challenge for anyone reading. The first person who can decipher Flame's three lines of mental weirdness will earn a prize. An actual prize. Maybe an art/literature request, or an art trade, or something else, I dunno. And, if that person does this before the end of the story, he or she gets another prize as a bonus. (This includes both here and DeviantArt; if someone wins on one site, I'm closing the challenge on the other site too.)
Don't worry, I intend to leave you all the clues you need to figure it out. It's just a matter of finding them and putting them together. Which is really a recurring theme in this story, isn't it?

Chapter 9 will be short. (Chapter 9 actually turned out to be fairly long, which is fine.) Chapter 10 is already almost done. I'm doing something special for the epilogue, so that might be a while.
