Opal was not born in the wild, more like in captivity. She was born in one of the more civil species of Pokémon and born within the city. In a way she was part of an experiment; to see if a Pokémon's very type could be changed. Her mother was the test subject. Opal's three other siblings were all born the same normal Dark-type Poochyena. However, Opal was beyond special when she was born not with one, but with two type variations. The others were amazed by this turn around.

Growing up Opal felt pressured. Because of her rare mutation, others looked to her with high expectations, jealousy, and desire. Her siblings were all pretty jealous of her, the only comfort being with her mother. The scientists who tested her newfound abilities were very expectant of her, which usually resulted in her pushing herself too hard to try and impress. And when she went out in public, many looked to her with desire. While some labeled her as a freak, she was more or less accepted. This didn't help Opal's case though.

Opal is a cheerful gal. The worries she feels she hides with a smile. She does her best to be the kind of person everyone wants her to be, not knowing what she wants to be. The stress sometimes gets to her, but again she never shows it to anyone in public. Opal tries to encourage others to push themselves to beyond what they are expected of.

Confused by the title and the description? If you don't know me, or haven't seen my earlier work, I guess I am kinda in love (arguably obsessed) with Pokémon hybrids, alt types, or complete type mutations. Opal just so happens to be one of those type mutations. ^^ A complete mutation if I do say so myself. I thank  anubiis_werewolf for doing yet another amazing job.
