So! I thought I would change things up a bit and post some excerpts from A Taste of Paris for those still on the fence, or just wanting to see some more work from me while I continue working on Pirate's Fate. Enjoy!
When Shy Abby started her internship at a bakery in Paris, she didn't expect to be working for the beautiful, talented, outgoing Gia. Will romance bloom?

~~~~Chapter 3 Part 4~~~~
I leaned in for another bite, not noticing that Gia had done the same. Chocolate, cream, and crumbs broke across my lips, then Gia’s tongue. I could taste the icing I’d written for her on Gia’s lips, feel the dough we’d kneaded together dissolve in our mouth.
When the pastry was finished, Gia pulled away, and I stumbled forwards, nearly falling onto my hands and knees. “Where…where…are you going?” I sputtered, but she’d already turned and left the room.
For a gut-wrenching moment, I considered that Gia might be fleeing the shop entirely, that she viewed what we’d done as some kind of horrific mistake.
“Be back in a moment, darling,” she called out, and I crumpled to my knees as a wave of relief crashed over me. The unexpected and surreal qualities of our encounter had served to make my happiness incredibly fragile, I realized. Even after a tender kiss, I how could I really be sure of anything?
“Close your eyes,” Gia commanded. I complied, but couldn’t help opening my eyes just a crack. Gia was returning, carefully cradling something in her arms.
“Open,” she said, her hand stroking my cheek and pointing my chin downwards. My field of vision stayed where it was for a moment, taking in the sight of the delicate little swell on the inside of her wrist.
Then, I looked down and saw it: a cake, with the words “For Abby,” written on it, using almost the same writing I’d used earlier.
“Because I did so well today?” I asked. But she shook her head.
“I baked it this morning,” Gia explained. This morning, I realized? That meant…we’d both had the same thought…
The worries, the fear, the constant second guessing of Gia’s signals, they all seemed to fade away. Gia held me in her arms and as a few tears ran down my cheeks.
“Taste, taste,” she finally said, bringing a forkful of cake to my lips. Deliciously rich, as always.
