I've been kicking around the idea that the arm where gifts from a grateful Watch Captain, And the Blade is carried in vengeance of a fallen Brother.
While serving as an Interrogator under the (Radical) Inquisitor assigned as the 'Lord of the Brass Tower', that is Inquisitional liaison and Inquisitor in residence at a Deathwatch Watch Fortress. She was assigned as a field agent to a particular warzone to gather Intel on the Xenos they where fighting. But She got caught up in the engagement as a Khornite Blood Crusade smashed directly into the theatre.
She participated in an action to board and destroy a Khorne corrupted Warlord class titan, loosing her left arm in melee combat with a unit Khorne Berserkers, but in the process buying the Killteam the minutes to plant the melta charges to disable the Titans shielding just long enough for the Imperial Guards just arrived Stormblade super heavy armoured support to destroy the Titan, thus turning the tide of the campaign against the traitors.
In recognition of the role she played in the destruction of the Titan, the defence of an imperial world of sector level import, and her demonstrated loyalty to the Emperor. She was not only extracted and saved by the Deathwatch marines, but gifted a new Augmetic arm from the forges of the fortress crafted by a Iron Priest of the Space Wolves. A Highly unusual decision to give her the armour, as the Armour of the Deathwatch can only be worn by those who have sworn the Apocryphon Oath.
The Xenophase blade she carries was once assigned to a Brother Sergeant of the deathwatch, one leading a killteam she and her inquisitor worked closely with for many years. She retrieved the blade after he was killed in single combat against a tau commander, and now carries the blade with an oath of vengeance that it shall be the weapon to end the life of that same tau when they meet on the field of battle once more.
As a note the Xenophase blade is an option any Deathwatch Sergeant or Watch Captain to take (they are User Strength AP3 melee, and it forces any successful Invulnerable save against it to be re rolled as per 7th Ed Codex: Deathwatch Pg. 106), it is an ancient and barely understood relic that is rumoured to be of xenos origin, perhaps Necron, but these blades have been in service with the Long Vigil since before the Necron started to truly emerge from their hibernation tombs in great numbers, though talk of the origin of these weapons is forbidden under threat of excruciation.

All of this sounds great! While the replacement arm being given by the space marines is not as uncommon as you would think, the same thing happens to Commissar Kain(great series by black library) only it's just his hand and by a chapter not the Deathwatch. Also is she an abhuman?
Thumbs up all around. I say the sunset background best adds to the overall excellence and awesomeness.
Out of curiosity what are the words inscribed on her shoulder piece? I can make the top word out to be death but none of the others.
Either way, excellent job and continue the excellent work.
