Huge thanks to the developers for getting this ready- we're hoping to work out a license agreement with TTS to make the full game available down the road- possibly even before the physical release. I'll look into whether it's possible to make the Tabletop Simulator version free to backers, and if it's possible, it'll be free to everyone backing the campaign.

What doesn't work exactly? I'm assuming you went with the completely free option and installed Cockatrice? Cockatrice screwed up on my PC and I was able to get it fixed. Just in case you had the same error:
If it claims you're missing a .dll file, you are missing a specific visual studio c++ redistributable from microsoft. The Cockatrice troubleshooting page will merely say to download the latest redistributable from microsoft, which may be incorrect. For example, my PC lacked MSVCP120.dll, which is only supplied in the 2013 redistributable (latest is 2015) and most solutions to this problem posted on the net linked to a defunct 2013 download page (including the links on the Cockatrice page). Instead, you will have to search for "visual studio c++ currently supported redistributable" to find microsoft's central visual studio page, which lists download links to all relevant versions, including 2013. Be sure to download and install both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the redistributable, just in case. If your problem is with another .dll, MSVCP100.dll is from 2010 and MSVCP140.dll is from 2015.

I don't know... I downloaded this one https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8.....FjeW8zTWs/view and tried to run it but my PC told me it was a dangerous file and refused to install it.
Steam version is a mod for TableTop Simulator, which costs $20 to get. If you do go that route, you have to buy and install TableTop Simulator from its Steam store page first and then "subscribe" (green button on the Skirmish Steam page) to the Skirmish mod and it will download and install automatically.
As for the google drive thing:
The link you gave lead to an error page, but I assume you mean SkirmishDemo.exe. I don't know why your PC would flag it as a virus, but I used it and it merely installs the Skirmish assets (card images, theme, decks) to Cockatrice. As long as you use the google drive link in Dave's post, it should give you the legitimate installer. I don't know why your PC would flag it as dangerous. Is there some way for you to bypass that security measure (maybe temporarily disabling whatever program is blocking the install) on your PC and run the exe anyways? Perhaps simply re-downloading it will work.
BTW, you still need Cockatrice installed before you use the SkirmishDemo.exe. The second google link Dave provided leads to a doc that goes through the installation step-by-step.
