The first one was comic from Dark horse too lol and it's just how they ink and shadow their comic
The second and third one wasn't from official source so I don't know about it.
I think it's pointless to nitpick about this inconsistent in their design so..
We should keep what we think right to ourself.It's like when you play Mass Effect.
There's nothing wrong when you pick up one choice that I didn't choose right? :D

Impressive. I'm digging the contrast of not only the characters to the background but to one another. That and there's something very nice about the purple biotic aura to the orange tech-tool glow.
