Backstory for Vilkas and Ichibay (the kid Vilkas was later framed for killing). They were about 14/15 when they met and Vilkas was still pretty messed up over Beijeye's death; he sort of ended up going through an angry, self-destructive, jerk phase (of course, Handwing almost seemed to get along with him better when he was acting like that). He was moved to a separate bunkhouse from one his was first in, because he kept getting in fights, and starts letting Handwing sneak in. But when Ichibay was transferred, the only space left, was with Vilkas. No one told Vilkas that he was getting a bunkmate, because they figured he'd just act out about it; no one warned Ichibay that he was getting stuck with the "problem kid", they just kind of hoped that since Ichibay was a medic trainee, rather than another fighter, it might be fine. They eventually got to be friends, but it took a while.
