Though seemingly opposite to most people, Beijeye was not a bad influence on Vilkas. Not the absolute best, because he does have his share of bad habits and such, but he tried to keep it away from Vilkas. Handwing couldn't have cared less, Vilkas wasn't his responsibility.

Also, Handwing once had a super classy* girlfriend. Beijeye hated her. Mostly because she was the one who really dragged Handwing into heavier drug use. He sort of accepted that Handwing had at least somewhat of an excuse with pills, or anything they both occasionally did for fun, but not when he started shooting up. And the fact that he definitely didn't want that sort of shit around Vilkas.

*I mean that with all the sarcasm in the world.
