I have never figured out how people could wear jodhpurs. This is one squared away officer, but of course I now know something of him. To get back to me, I carried a sword in the Corps and I know how that reinforces pride. And, as a guy with an eye for hot clothing, those sure are some boots. With spurs. Oh me oh my.

Irish Civil War. He fought in it. He was a Colonel at 18, the result of keeping a cool head and turning the tables in an ambush, and impressing the dynamic head of the Irish Army, Michael Collins. Even getting on 55 years later, my grand-uncle still recalled Collins with awe.

Oh, yes. As I said in another thread, the Irish Civil War doesn't make for edifying reading. A lot of atrocities carried out on both sides.

There is still huge anger at our own Civil War. The recent taking down of the Confederate Monuments is not going to stand. Our country is on the edge of a massive bloodletting and I, for one, want it to happen while I can still participate. No more appeasing our underclass. No more liberal fools dictating social engineering. There is a reason our inner cities are violent cesspools and this will be eradicated. This is the end of servants when they reign.

Happens a lot in civil wars and religious ones. Something about having your own relatives fight that goes ugly fast.
