Bwomp is a word, right?
Anyway, this is a quickie before I go back to destroying my house. I wanted to try working on shading better. Most of the my images are flat two or three tone cartoon images where I just use a layer of black at a certain opacity to provide shading. This time I wanted to do it better, and specifically not just use a darker version of the same color to shade.
Also, I wanted to draw an alligator. Mission accomplished.
Question time. I draw general bigness overall, but often times for one offs like this where I'm not thinking about what caused the bigness, I can't decide whether it is more appropriate to stuff the image in the category "Fat furs" or "Inflation". Anybody else lose sleep over this conundrum or have a thought over how to decide when the subject material is close?

I do too have the same issue. When a Dragon has gorged themselves on food to the point they are rather round, does it count as food inflation or does it count as fat furs for having eaten all that food?...
Whatever the result regardless, this round crocodile is rather nice.
The layer of black is, while not correct nor perfect, does provide a very simple shadow effect. I use Paint tool SAI and greyscale methods and then overlay layers to add colours which works rather well.

Lol. I've had this debate before with friends. This is how I'd define it:
Fat furs - The result of slow, methodical gaining (i.e. binge eating)
Inflation - Rapid expansion due to air, water, food, slime etc.
So regardless of whether it's happening or has already happened, that's how I'd classify it.
