Magic is a strange force that helps keep everything working as it does. Its a natural guiding force that tells things how to behave. However it is very easily manipulated and can be used for many positive purposes as well as some very despicable ones. Most of the time though its just used as a fun party trick.

But what is magic? Well it is something called heavy energy. It is one of two forms energy can construct (the other being matter). This heavy energy is called Raw Magic which doesn't do much but can itself be assembled into five main magic types (known as Primary Magic Aspects) that have a very strong impact. The symbols for all of these and a diagram of how it all works is shown above. As you can see magic can be converted into matter and vice versa.

Below I will detail all five primary magic aspects.

Quintessence
Quintessence or ether is spirit magic. Living energy. This is what forms an organisms soul. Its what gives life its free will and what give it the ability to manipulate magic. Manipulating spirit essence however can yield some horrifying results and the practice has been minimized in many countries. It can however also be used to talk to spirits and read a person's fortune.

Fire
Fire magic deals in energisation, energy transference and chemical reactions.

Air
Controls gases and the movements and properties of these gases.

Water
Controls fluids and fluidity.

Earth
Controls solids and solidity.

These have been mixed and matched into further forms of magic and using these in different ways has yielded many different magical professions which apply it in different ways. Some professions have have helped society prosper for the better. Others have doomed entire nations.

One of these nations remains dead to this day. Or at least people wish it was just dead...
