Athena is the AI for my old Villains and Vigilantes character Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt gained Super intelligence as one of his powers so at some point I figured he would create an AI. I named that AI Athena. Having just watched the latest episode of Steven Universe I figured if Thunderbolt ever made his way to Steven's Universe he would try to help heal shattered gems. Creating an artificial Gem would be a step in learning how to do this. Athena became the basis for the Gem, hence the appearance. Haven't decided what type of gem she should be, so I'm open to suggestions. The background gives me an excuse to create an OC gem, and even if a gem of that type shows up, there's a reason why she doesn't resemble it.
