Verander;
A half-breed who, after his human father died of old age, stayed up in the Alpine Mountains with his mother. She, being a draconic-demon from one of the circles of Hell, hunted those precarious enough to wander off the mountain trail. The pair lived in a calm solitude, practicing a Monk-lifestyle and building a home out of bear bones and furs. After a time however, word got out that something was out in the mountains, killing explorers.
One day while out hunting a bear for the next days food, a group of Monster Hunters managed to locate the cave. Veranders mother, weak after a few weeks without (literal) soul-food, was unable to fend them off.
Verander, upon returning, fought and killed the intruders in fair battle, though he had to fight a broken heart to do nothing more vile.
As is custom for Demons, he took his mothers skull as his helm, using it for his own protection, a constant reminder of her wisdom, and as a proomise to serve a higher purpose.
Without any reason to stay in the mountains, he begins his trek down, not sure where he will go, but knows he can trust what was taught to him and that his soul will guide him steady and true
