strawberry patch [garden photo]
So about a year ago I decided that the easiest thing to do with my strawberry plants was ignore them. They've since gone wild, and run round about 1/4 of the garden, but they're good ground cover and it turns out they look proper lush in early summer! Hoping I might actually get a crop out of them :)
In the raised flowerbed to the rear, there's a huge colony of spiders, which has attracted frogs from next door's pond. I've decreed them the guardians of the strawberry patch and let them know I will avoid weedkillers in that area as long as they also eat the slugs. I'm considering whether I can put a small pool in for them to hydrate in, but I don't know what to use that won't also trap them and drown them...
