Well, I finally have an explanation as to why I draw plague doctor masks with mouths.

This here is a Doctrix, Apothecarus fictis. Plural: "Doctri."

Doctri are a flightless avian species. They are strictly carnivorous creatures that focus on deception in order to capture their prey. They have been present throughout history, most prominently during the time of the Plague in Europe. Doctri would dress as doctors and trick their weakened prey into trusting them before swallowing them whole.

Doctri are extremely intelligent creatures. They have adapted to the times in order to survive as a species; nowadays, Doctri cosplay as different characters in order to achieve the same goals.

All doctri are genderless as they do not have sex organs--rather, they can choose to either digest their prey or morph them into one of their own species. Should they digest the unlucky soul, they are completely absorbed. Their stomach acid is strong enough that everything is digested and everything will be absorbed. In other words, they literally do not poop.

For now, it'll be a closed species. I'll be making adoptables soon, based on actual bird species.
