I suppose this is the first mage that I've actually shown doing magic. His name's Fortin Vera and he's a mage in service to the high council, very young for such a position. He used tattoos imbued with runic magic and conduits engraved into his skin to cast magic, a popular choice for goblin sorcerers and wizards alike.

Only around 1 in 300 goblins are sensitive to magic by birth. I.E. A sorcerer. Unlike wizards who have to learn their magic and study their spellcraft sorcerers learn magic through trial and error, intuition, and their own personal experience. Goblin wizarding arts are fairly well established and well respected in the Swamp society. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of dry space to hold paper to be a wizard. (which is difficult in the swamp) However, most goblins appreciate a wizard's ability to make potions and brews more than active magical powers. Anyone can pop a potion and receive a benefit but only a skilled wizard could utilize a scroll and those often get wet and soggy... Tattoos are the other goblin specialty, and a skilled wizard can etch into himself or others magical powers beyond that of mortal beings. A popular one is a tiny rune etched into the foot to prevent you from stepping on nails and other sharp objects hidden in the muck. To anyone's knowledge, it works.
