I knew traveling to the Arctic would be cold. Just not how cold! I met with some Inuit natives to learn about their culture. Their shaman elder seemed to take a particular liking to me. He would tell me stories of the various beasts and legends of their people. On the last day I was there I was getting ready to leave. I made a remark to the people gathered that I wished I did not have to leave. The shaman gave me sinister look and said that could be arranged.
I immediately fell to the ground. My body gripped by pain as a thick finned tail erupted from my rump while a sharp pointed dorsal fin ripped through the back of my shirt. I started to growl feeling a mix of rubbery and furred skin moved over my body. My eyes glowed yellow.
"You shall not leave now. You are the Akhlut...a guardian of the frozen lands now." The shaman said to me. His words echoed in my ears until they pulled into my head and I let out a loud howl before rushing for the nearby water. Ready to hunt.
