Idiots React to Foxler at Big Little Furcon

Concern of perpetuating this issue myself I blocked out all the twitter accounts, also this is mainly for fun so no hard feelings. Foxler showing up to BLFC was enough to cause some people to lose their shit. To possibly clear some things up I don't hold animosity towards any of the people on here I just think some of the things said are stupid reactionary shit that needs to be addressed. It was really the hashtag #shutdownBLFC that really drove me up a wall especially seeing it from people who claim to be against fascism and yet probably still buy from Chick Filay and hobby lobby.

Exceedingly frustrating.
Everything that happened there.
The, extreme hate for Foxler walking around wearing some clothing that somewhat resembled something from the past.
The kinds of things posted, threats, bounties for violence/theft/damage or destruction of property. And, well, they can justify it, because they and all of their friends are in an echo chamber propping each other up more and more, getting more and more extreme.
Sent you a bit of info about the main bounties for violence/theft/damage that happened.
Just. Utterly horrible that mindset and behaviour.

They already have.
There are colours of every type now. Green, blue, rainbow, trippy, with a white circle and black paw print.
It is still seen as 'nazi symbols'.
Because folks want something to get angry at, and they have selected this group. Have even read several comments saying that even if a known Furry Raider were to not have an armband, it would pretty much be just as bad. And they still shouldn't ever be allowed to have any relaxation/feel comfortable/have fun.
Because 'they are nazis'. They say this. Without evidence nor proof. Just keep saying it, so that everyone who listens to them also accepts it. And then everyone just says it, and it is therefore 'true'.

I had heard about the incident that occurred at BLFC while in my room... and yes, those persons did say that Foxler and his group were dressed as Neo Nazis and "making white Supremes statements and gestures" while in fursuit. I was bewildered by them saying this. I figured the idea of Neo Nazi furries was not too farfetched, yet, I was surprised that such a group would have the nerve to attend a public place that is obviously diverse in culture and race.
My overall reaction was "well, as long as it does not become my problem... then it is not my problem". So I let it go.
Though while searching for pics of me and friends via online for BLFC, I came across this picture... watched part of a video link, and now realize that the whole situation is misunderstood, and as you said "everyone who listens to them also accepts it". BLFC's 2015 theme had to do with pseudo full-government control with the concept of BIG BROTHER watching every fur. That in itself is an influence from 1984, a book very much inspired by WWII AND the Nazi's. So that convention theme could have been very much so insulting to someone such as me, who happens to be of Jewish decent, with family history going back to the time when Jews started to flee Poland. Yet, I was not, and seeing the outfit that Foxler wears does not insult me... though, it is of poor taste. It does reflect the style of Hitler's Youth or Neo Nazi choice of regalia.
All I can say is if he and his group mean to have good intentions, change the overall look. Or simply don't wear the arm band. It is not worth the stresses and the stigma for folks to endure. This fandom is quick to judge and quick to ultimatums.
I know how it is to be in such a situation as Foxler. When I worked for Kaiser Hospital Intercon security, we used to wear American Flag pins on our collar to show support of Memorial Day and 4th of July. When Securitas took over our contract (they are a Swiss owned Security company), they told us we could no longer do this, because they did not want us to offend people. What a bunch of BS. I quite that job. I take pride in my country, and I am not going to let some ignorant business tell me I cannot take pride for being what I am, which is an American. I changed my look (quite my job, got another, BETTER one). Perhaps Foxler should do the same.

The logo seems to be originally inspired by the nazi armband. But... if we can't have things that were inspired by/used by the nazis. Then we would be missing a lot of things. It is mostly a matter of where the line is drawn.
As the Furry Raiders do not act like nazis, nor do they advocate for nazi ideals. They in fact want to have the subculture be more open/welcoming to folks (as far as their website says and what they have done).
For example, Foxler, the leader/head of the Furry Raiders, used his own money to buy an entire cinema worth of seats, so that local furries could see Zootopia for free. And Foxler is half Thai-half German in a homosexual relationship with a black man... kinda the opposite of what the nazis liked/wanted.
It is a group, that have similar goals and aspirations. One of which is freedom of speech and expression. Freedom of speech and expression seem to be very important to the group. Hence not wanting to change the logo much.
But, because people see them as being bad... because Foxler has behaved like a troll sometimes, setting folks off and saying intentionally provocative things (mostly in the past, years ago, but people still dredge up bad jokes and intentionally provocative statements). That has caused the more... sensitive... members of the subculture to loose their minds.
What happened to Foxler during BLFC was... kinda insane. Many many threats were issued, and not just threats, but also bounties for payments of violence/theft/destruction of property.
I am worried that this mindset. The 'not allowing others who aren't doing anything wrong at all but we don't like because we don't like them' mindset will continue to kill off conventions. RMFC was killed because of it. And am pretty sure that the only reason BLFC didn't get killed by threats is because it happened DURING the convention, not before. So they didn't need to increase security to the point of having to shut down because the security budget was too high.
Foxler at BLFC, there was a bounty offered.
It stood at: $215, one full colour commission, one free thigh-up full colour commission, one coloured sketch, two headshots, one icon, one vector bust badge, one doodle, one headshot sketch, two pixel artworks, three badges (or two badges and one small animation), one digital badge, one set of handpaws, one 2-5 page story, one 10 page story and a copy of Overwatch if someone does the following.
- Dump a bag of franzia on his head (filmed).
- Punch him in the face.
- Steal his fursuit head and put it in a dumpster (picture).
- Steal his armband (picture).
Most of those artworks come from the theft of his armband.
None of the people making threats, advocating violence or offering rewards for violence/theft/damage to property have had anything happen to them.
SJW folks decide that something offends them, then justify violence/avocation of violence/threats because that thing offends them. Then the rest of their group coddles them, and says that that attitude is good and fine and wonderful.
That is what is going on. A large group of like minded folks have gotten together, and are forcing folks out who they have decided 'aren't good'.
You would probably be able to join the Furry Raiders, and they would most likely welcome you. Doesn't matter that you are of Jewish decent. They probably wouldn't care.
