One more stunning new colaboration with 
abluedeer based on 
ceres_world !
This time it's all about Lycans' tradition on how to find a soulmate. And, even if the biggest part of the event occurs at night, most of the day is spent on preparations and rituals for all the young contestants. ;)
And this year, Mating Day was kinda special as it was open to all of known and even unknown species O_o
(Okay, I think you got it but, this isn't canon illustration at all. XD Even if Mi'toko being on here all worried and scared to get caught shall let think the contrary.)

The Mating Day is a VERY IMPORTANT tradition for Lycans : the 5th day after the second moon of Spring starts a very special night-celebration during which the young females run to hide in the forest and, one hour later, the young males go and run on the forest where they have to track and chase them to capture their soulmate. The young people are invited to join in it as soon as they reach their sixteenth spring. But you don’t need to already know who could be your soulmate before entering the Mating-day. Because, who knows, maybe this is the perfect night for you to find yours ! Sadly, as love isn’t always mutual, a female doesn’t have to accept the love of a male only because he captured her. Fortunately, you can re-enter the Mating-Day every year, until you find your soulmate. But it is pretty unusual to see a Lycan about more than twenty springs entering it.And this year, Mating Day was kinda special as it was open to all of known and even unknown species O_o

That's not exactly what should happen. XD The even will last all night long and you can be considered as out of it only when you've found a soulmate OR if you decide to quit. So, there can be multiple meetings and catchings during the night for each male and female. ^^
Oh and, concerning Mi'toko, she just takes part of the event every year to make her friends happy, but she really doesn't want to be caught because she'd feel bad to have to decline offers. And why would she ? Because she has lost her soulmate and doesn't feel like she could have another one.

Don't forget : sex also means to bind oneself to another for life. This isn't only a custom or myth, but also some strange Lycan feature. :P
Oh but, you know, they also wear pants, linen tunics or leather sort-of-jackets. My co-artist friend just thought it would be more "practical" not to wear heavy clothes on such an occasion and, well, more appealing for the "ladies". XD

Well, I would definitly not make "partner-hopping". As much as I like Polygamy, I would definitly go by the comics logic on that matter, or rather by the customs and traditions of the Village. Then you'd be a very sad wolf in the world of Cérès as all Lycans are monogamous because of this very special "feature" being part of them (or well, almost all of them, some very rare cases of "dysfunctional" bindings were registered. But these are VERY rare ).
