Introducing... Will Scarlet Macaw!
Will's beautiful plumage and eccentric personality has always managed to turn heads. Whether or not that's a good thing depends entirely on the situation. In terms of finding a home? A good thing. In terms of staying at that home? Not so much. Will's story as to how he became a stray is probably the least upsetting of them all, which might explain how he manages to maintain such an upbeat and comical attitude. It all started when he got himself some human owners by being an attention-seeking loudmouth at the pet store. They couldn't resist the good-looking and hilarious parrot, and brought him home with them that very day. Now, these humans had owned birds in the past; budgies, canaries, cockatiels... but never a large macaw like Will. And certainly never a bird with as much energy as Will. Completely unprepared for his constant chattering and tone-deaf singing, and unable to keep him sitting in one place when all he wanted to do was fly everywhere, the humans quickly realised that they couldn't keep him. They thought the kind thing to do would be to take him to the local shelter where he could be adopted by someone who could handle him. What they didn't account for was the fact that, on the way to the car, Will broke free and flew far away into the depths of Sherwood Forest.
Despite having been born in captivity, Will always had keen survival instincts and adapted to the wild very quickly. He was the second stray to join Robin, whom he met one morning along with Little John when the two were out hunting; Little John was apparently hungry for some parrot that day. Following Will's pleas not to eat him, Robin noticed how odd it was to find a scarlet macaw living in Sherwood Forest. After Will told his story and added how offended he was that his humans had no taste for his unique style of singing, Robin began to see potential for the extroverted parrot. After Little John had feasted on some other poor, unsuspecting animal in the forest and Will felt a little more comfortable around him now that he no longer had an empty stomach, he heard all about the dog's neglect he went through at his old home, and took pity. Will ended up joining the team as a diversions expert; whenever the others needed a distraction, he'd provide it and get their enemy's attention in a flash. And even though Robin and all the other strays are often annoyed by Will's noisiness and hyperactivity, they value him as a team member and as a friend, and Will is glad that he's finally found somewhere he belongs.

Early character concept for "Robin and the Strays of Sherwood". Backstories and basic personalities are pretty much there, but the characters' aesthetic designs may still change and their personalities will develop over time.
