Follow-up Commission I got from the fantastic Zee-Rage-Man (http://zee-rage-man.deviantart.com/) a little while ago. He's a fantastic artist, and I'm sure he'd appreciate the attention. Just to note, I do intend to replace this linearted version with a colored variant of likely my own creation later.
Now, having an eldest daughter who was cursed with the tendency to suddenly revert back into a more infantile state of being certainly meant change for the royal family of DunBroch, and especially for Merida. Adventures in the surrounding forests were replaced with safer, less escalated escapades in the castle under a watchful eye (which usually meant escape or distraction was necessary for anything truly exciting to happen). A room fit for a teenage girl now had to be easily adaptable to a lass who would be too small for it. Bows and arrows were usually traded for binkies and stuffed animals whenever the time came that the Princess found herself to be among properly-aged peers in the nursery.
However, the only thing that seemed to never change was the matter of lessons on Princess-y nonsense. Don't get me wrong, the Queen still knew that Merida was more of an outside learner (and she's adapted to her daughter's "quirk" to help keep things in the new status quo), but whenever the Queen was busy with other matters, one of the many handmaidens appointed at the Castle Dunbroch saw it fit to keep Merida up to snuff with her former studies, in fear of her shrinking again for some time.
Merida, as expected, was no fan of this. I mean, yes, she was prone to turning into a diaper-dependent toddler at the drop of a broadsword (and we all know how smart they are...not to say that she lost everything every time she shrank), but this was ridiculous. Even if the handmaiden saw her revert to her formerly bygone phase, she'd still continue on with her banal lesson, only now dumbing things down to a ridiculous degree! She knew this already, and her captor was treating her as if she was in some sort of pre-school!
Then again, she did have her own way of getting back. A big lunch plus a mind-numbingly long lecture on diplomatic relations with some kingdom of Aren-something equaled a sleepy baby with a magically immense bowel system...
