Introducing... Allan a Dales Pony!
Allan has always been a bit of a show pony. When not training or competing in equestrian contests, he'd be getting dolled up with the aid of expert groomers. He is very finicky about his presence and always likes to look his best, and back before his days as a stray, that included making sure he was in top form every time he competed in something. He was never one of the physically strongest of the ponies in his stable, but still excelled in many areas due to his high intellect and ability to learn and remember new things. Allan was mostly a dressage pony, but really wanted to improve at sports. One fateful day, Allan was to compete in a jumping contest, but his rider did not take care to warm him up for the event. When the time came, Allan was aware that he was not physically prepared, but was so determined to do his best that he exerted himself. Approaching the final hurdle, he was fatigued and had already landed awkwardly after his last jump, but he stopped at nothing. He stumbled, fell down and crushed his left hind leg, and his rider was hospitalised. Following surgery, the pain on Allan's broken leg was dulled, but the vet confirmed that he would never heal completely. Management at the stables eventually concluded that Allan would need to be put down in order to make room for a new, able-bodied pony.
The night before Allan was due to be euthanised, he understandably couldn't sleep. Knowing that staying put meant he was doomed, he decided to make a desperate attempt to escape. He tactfully turned his water trough upside-down, pushed it to the door, stepped on it, and clambered out of his stable. He landed awkwardly on his throbbing leg, causing him to let out a cry, which woke the other ponies. He hurriedly limped outside and there he met Robin, who caused a diversion to distract any nearby humans long enough for Allan to leave the premises. Robin took him back to Sherwood Forest, where Allan told the others his story. He became the third stray to join the team, after a much needed rest. Robin was particularly impressed at the way Allan escaped his stable, and the dales pony was quickly recognised for his intelligence. Allan is the least able of the team when it comes to combat and agility, but he is undoubtedly the brains of the group and takes on the role of the strategist. Although he can get impatient with some of the slow-witted members of the team, he does get a sense of enjoyment out of being noticed for his intelligence. As such, he remains a show pony to this day. That said, he is probably the stray that had the most difficulty adapting to life in the wild, especially when it comes to maintaining his dashing good looks without the aid of his groomers.

Early character concept for "Robin and the Strays of Sherwood". Backstories and basic personalities are pretty much there, but the characters' aesthetic designs may still change and their personalities will develop over time.
