“The lowest class soldiers that could be found in the kingdom of Terros, acting as wardens in pretty much every settlement. They usually consist of old or young lizards, either those who cannot serve in regular army anymore or those who wasn't accepted to become a soldier or a knight. Sentinels are the least experienced part of lizard army. To become one, volunteers much pass two months in training camps, learning the most basics of tactics, combat and their future duties. After that, they receive equipment and relocate to assigned fortress, castles or forts.
Usually, they have a short spear, short sword or battle axe; some of them have light crossbows instead of spears. Every sentinel has a signal horn, tool that helps them inform everyone else in case of emergency. The reason behind that decision is simple, nobody expect sentinels to be a great fighters, if there will be a threat more serious than drunk peasants, thieves or aggressive wildlife, regular army and actual soldiers will come to solve the problem. Sentinels' task is to keep civil order and to not bother real soldiers with small everyday problems.
