"The largest part of king's army. Regular soldiers are way more dangerous than sentinels, equipped and trained better as well. But, they usually located in camps, fortresses and castles and don’t stay in the towns, preferring to be nearby. The only exception is the kingdom capital, where sentinels are mostly replaced with actual soldiers.
There are few ranks among soldiers, starting from green rookies to scarred veterans, depending on how long they serve and how well they can fight. To take a part in the army, young lizard should spend at least a half of year in the training camps. After that, they became able to act among the others, knowing how to fight, how to act in formations and in different terrains and situations, like ambushing, defending, attacking… or pillaging.
They are a decent threat, since they know how to fight, they have actual armor (mostly chainmail or leather with iron or steel parts) and they have well forged weapons. Lizard soldiers trained to be aggressive and unyielding, but at the same time they are quite disciplined. It strongly recommended avoiding large squads, since even the best warrior or mage might be outnumbered and killed by a few dozens of trained soldiers.
