A half goblin half human! I've not got a name for him yet, but he's a shy and relatively insecure but very capable handyman and day laborer working in the market district. He's got several brothers and sisters, but his elder brother (seen on the left also unnamed as of now) teases him frequently about his lack of confidence despite his great looks and strength. Big bro knows when a hottie has spotted his little bro and tries to push him to do something, but he's often more harm than help. But, the half goblin does have quite a few admirers.
Goblin Facts!
Goblins and humans are compatible! Actually Human x Basically anything living is compatible. It's the one thing humans have on every other race and it's their gift(curse?). But, enough about humans. Goblins it turns out are almost as compatible as humans! Well... not quite, but there are many races that can breed with goblins to produce viable offspring. There are rare cases with almost every race that bear offspring from other species, but they're almost always infertile in some way.
Goblin society is open to polygamy, and most goblins wouldn't bat an eye at the idea of a couple with different species or even multiple partners of differing origins. However, there is a sizable minority that shun and deride halfbloods and their kin. But, this is usually restricted to a few select old clans within the city. No guild has a negative stance legally towards interspecies couples or their progeny. (Just rough estimates) Nearly 40% of families are polygamous and 60% monogamous. Of that maybe just 1% of each are interspecies partnerships of some kind. But, that doesn't mean they aren't an important part of goblin society. Goblins value the guild and social systems more than genetic or biological origins. Anyone, given enough service to prove their loyalty and character, can become a citizen of the Realm. (Which still needs to be named...)
Halfbloods are not restricted to goblins by any means. But, goblin society is one of the few that is readily accepting of these unique individuals and views them as equals rather than freaks or weirdos.
Final notes, some races goblins can almost always bear children with in order of fertility; orcs, humans, ogres, kobolds, gnolls, halflings, gnomes, and elves. There are several others that goblins could theoretically have fertile children with, but are often sterile like; various beastfolk, gatormen, naga, and numerous others. But, there are some races that just aren't compatible; dwarves, minotaur, centaur, merfolk, amphibians, and nearly all avians. This is by no means a complete list but it gives an idea.
Once again, holy cow you made it. First, thanks a ton for reading I hope you liked it. And second, if you've got any questions for me feel free to send a note or ask over on my tumblr Vulture Scribbles. I do TMI tuesday and answer asks whenever I get them. You can ask me or my oc's whatever but I'll only answer the naughty stuff on Tuesdays ;3 kthanksbye
