Are all your backgrounds custom-made, or do you sometimes reuse backgrounds on some pieces?
Also, really digging that tattoo.

I never re-use backgrounds. They're made specifically for each piece. If you look closely, you'll never find a single duplicate. Sometimes I will employ similar concepts or ideas either at the request of the client or my own personal discretion, but never an exact recreation and always unique to each icon.

So much green in this picture, yet it's of so many different hues that it doesn't look samey. The way you coloured the nose makes it looks like a different texture from the fur which is great and the background is great. The great mist makes it look beautifully haunting.

I knew I had to work with lots of green in this one (client's request!), so getting it all to come together required a bit of brain-work. Glad I could pull it off, and you enjoyed the end result! Thanks for the great comment. c:

I love how the contrast pulls you right to their eyes, then the focal point draws you to their snoot, then from the snoot the shading pulls your eye to the background then the hair. At least for me anyways ^^
