A supplement, audio snip-it I took while working on another project this week. As I intended to post the biographical entry for Oxnard from The Official Hamtaro Handbook[/i], I figured this would go along with it quite nicely. After all, you can't hear Hamtaro without his good buddy Oxnard saying a howdy-do as well. :)
Audio clip taken from Hamtaro and the Ham-Hams. This was released in the Fall of 2002 along with The Official Hamtaro Handbook[/i] and can still be purchased at a largely discounted rate at special retailers.

I think this is when they were all introducing each other, and then right after Oxnard is Pashmina? :3 It was such a fun show. :D It's nice to hear Oxnard's voice again, I forget about it sometimes. :B But it's always nice to hear something from the show again!

Right and right, my friend. This is taken from episode 2 when Pashmina, Dexter, Penelope, and Howdy are introduced. I had nearly forgotten about this part until I showed "Hamtaro" to my son a few weeks back.
The fun part of when this clip takes place is the contrast between how Hamtaro and Oxnard greet the new Ham-Hams. Hamtaro is all energy while Oxnard is quite humble. Good times. :)

Something cool that shows like "Hamtaro," or "Pocket Dragon Adventures" did was give certain characters props to help make them more recognizable to the audience.
Over the years, I've written a fun, children's series that I hope to see published one day. In the least case, I'd like to share it. In any case, though, I have debated on the concept of using props for the characters to help seperate them better than simply having them be different colors or sizes. Any thoughts? :)

Well, I'm open for that, too. However, I have not posted much from that series here as of yet. :)
Actually, what I was wondering is if you felt props made for better characters? Like, do you feel Oxnard would be, well, Oxnard if he didn't always have a sunflower seed on hand?
My goal in life is to, one day, be recognized as a fantasy / juvenile fiction writer. As such, I always love to ask fun people like yourself what you may think makes for a great idea. One can not grow intellectually, nor creatively, without the outside input of others. :)

Oh yea definitely. Oxnard would be just another Ham-Ham on the show if he didnt have it.
Props that characters carry always with them help express their individuality and can say alot about any character.
And that is absolutely true! Otherwise our intellect would always tell us we're right and the way we do it can never be proven wrong ^^
