My submission for The Pinup Portfolio put together by Sehkmet and Synnabar. The portfolio features sexy femmes from a variety of species and walks of life and it will make it's debut at Anthrocon 2009, after which it will be available for purchase online.

This is a bit of a different style for me and was an experiment in many different ways. Had fun trying something different for me ^_^. The character featured is Balaa dressed in rather familiar garb ( I should think ;D) and her black lion companion, Gurzath.

In my story he is her steed but it is a very respectful relationship. He offers himself to her in battle though he remains very much a wild lion. He's smaller here than he would really be though, but I din't want him to dominate the composition more than he already did hurrr. And thank you, that means a lot coming from you. I think I didn't quite get the style as I envisioned it but I have no regrets really c:.

Thats cool! :) I understand how he is smaller. I also envisioned him as bigger but assumed you did it this way for that very reason.
Sekhmet has an andrewsarchus steed 8| http://www.abc.net.au/beasts/eviden.....rog2/page5.htm for extreme badassery. Ill have to draw it sometime.

that's true, but at the sametime, it's all in how you look at 'originals' C:. In some cases I sell 1/1 giclee print of a jumbo size with the original sketch art included. I understand that doesn't make the print an original..however it does make it unique unto itself ^_^.
This is a different style for you, but as usual you pulled it off like you do it every day. I love the color scheme - it looks to me as though the background is some kind of very large aquarium, with the fish being just out of sight.. I love the expressionistic coloring as well, with all the fascinating textures! And I really like how you drew Balaa's footpaws, and her lion friend looks very huggable... (but if he were hugged he would probably wonder whether he should attack and then just decide to put up with it grudgingly ^.^,,) I think I'm thinking too deeply into it now ^.^,, Great work
I'm so glad you mentioned the aquarium bit. That was my original thought, though I imagined the window to be even bigger! Adding fishies didn't really work with this style though, but maybe for future expl;oration..because I loooove the light huge aquariums cast x). And you honestly don't know how much I beam whenever I read a comment from you, though I'm sure Ive fangirled at you with that same line before. But it genuinely makes my day to see comments from you, however silly that may make me. So thank you!!
I think you made the right choice to not include fish - because it does make it look like a really huge tank with a small window, that way - and the patterns in the blue/green are fascinating and beautiful. I agree that lighting from massive aquariums makes for amazingly beautiful atmosphere...
And I get the same glee when you comment on my stuff ^.^,, I really respect and admire you and your work and so it does mean a lot to me that you feel the same way.. (though I feel I don't deserve it ^.^,)

cool baclkight and warm overall lighting, what a nice combination. the armour looks very much like Xena, but I guess it's more 'martial' clothing style than actually armoury? anyway, she has a proud pose there. and I love the little eartufts. :)

So lovely to see art from you and very amazing art at that! The whole scene is just eye candy, I’m really liking the art Nouveau style of the window and it’s dressings. It sort of appears like the view from the window is underwater or an aquarium of some sort. The ethereal blue glowiness it puts off is enchanting. The two creatures are stunning and I just noticed she is wearing Xena warrior princess’s garb! Very well done!
huazzah for black lions!! *beams* I must also say this pic is just all around awesome. love the characters, love the colors, love the poses. I would definitely get the set even for just this picture if only i were going to AC >.<
I do have to ask though, your character looks enough like a lioness but at the same time i get the feeling that you're not one. I see the soft stripes on your hind paws (which might i add look really attractive on you ^^; ) so perhaps a liger...tigon?
