Yeah Saam tends to be among one of my few favorite characters throughout this comic, along with Kitty and Tasha.
Anyway, this continues to be interesting. I couldn't help but suspect that not only is this going to further explain why Rohk acted as he did during the final act the Third Way invasion, but that it seems to, if I am not wrong, set up for something big to be going on later in the comic.

Huh, this is interesting, is Master Rohk saying he killed the Earth Guardian, or that he'll be killed? If the latter, it seems to lack a bit of drama considering
1; We have 3 Earth warriors in Kitty, Tasha, and the Silent Bob to Skeev's Jay in Bru (Who I'm still shocked din't die with Skeev, much less outlive two much more likeable (albeit plot-wise conveniently disposable) characters.
2; You'd think they could just say "shit that sucks", buck tradition, and put a new person in as Earth Guardian (Unless being a Guardian is some sort of power and not just a ranking and duty, in which case I could see why there'd be a lot of hoopla about Rohk being murdered while Guardian)

Rohk is indeed saying he killed the previous Guardian.
More about this situation will be revealed as Rohk explains his situation.
It's not so much about the tradition of it, as you will soon see, it's moreso there can't BE any further Guardians after Rohk thanks to his actions (moreon that shortly :D)
