OBSERVATIONS
Physically, Grand Marshal Husnii is typical of their species. The only thing of interest are the red and black spot pattern on their outer plates; a strange but not unheard of coloration. They stand at approximately 2 meters tall, not counting horns, with a very dense muscle mass common to the warrior and command castes of the Aniathi Imperium.
As denoted by the 'D suffix, Husnii was not born into the Amaul House as would be noted by an 'A suffix. Husnii was born as a Houseless warrior caste, but was quickly identified for tactical leadership in aptitude tests. Further testing and education earned high marks, and Husnii was granted the rank of Knight (Imperial equivalent to Sergeant) upon entering service. By age 50, Husnii had participated in several minor campaigns and two major incidents, earning awards for their tactical command and quick thinking. Kanta, a Banner Lord of House Amaul under whom Husnii had served, took personal interest in Husnii and their career and enlisted them into direct service, granting Husnii the name Husnii Amaul'K.
Now a House Amaul retainer, Husnii continued to perform beyond expectations. While their combat skills were not legendary, their obvious talent for command was carefully husbanded. As a member of a House, Husnii was exposed more to the political game involved with the Great Houses of the Imperium, and it is believed that during this time they were exposed to the Biological Ascendance Party (sub-faction 8OA). To our knowledge, Husnii remains a member to this day.
During the Battle of Ankra Prime, a nuclear strike took the Imperial forces by surprise and wiped out most of the House Amaul command staff. While only a Battle Master (Imperial equivalent to Captain) at the time, Husnii became the de-factor leader of the Amaul forces, and subsequently the various Houseless and Banner Houses loyal to the Amaul as well. It was during this time that Husnii took charge, regrouped their forces, and in the course of a week had forced a truce. Given the Amaul were being pressured to end the fighting on Ankra Prime quickly, the House was willing to accept the peace, and rewarded Husnii for demonstrating both superb command presence and strategic foresight; They were officially adopted into the Amaul House, and given the rank of Banner Lord.
It is at this point our military record of their command begins. As Banner Lord Husnii fought in both the Hormeth and Malchit Campaigns, successfully. They participated in the Great Solar War, predominately in the heavy ground campaigns of the East Core Expanse, and was promoted to Marshal (Imperial equivalent of General) during that time. As Marshal, Husnii was no longer simply taking orders from the House or the Imperium at large, but was also able to launch their own campaigns with the blessings of their House. This new freedom lead to the Pronis and Wargul Campaigns, both swift and decisive conquests, as well as the divisive Mordtec Incident; Aniathi, using no mechanical troops, were particularly vulnerable to the Disease, and while losses were high the Imperium as a whole took the resolution of the Incident as a hard won victory.
The 50 Years War was a turning point in Husnii's career, and something of a contentious aspect to an otherwise stellar record. Husnii's military annexation of the Kobalt System Alliance triggered the war, and is perhaps the first strategic mistake the Marshal had ever made. As more and more empires entered the fighting, Husnii attempted to withdraw the Imperium from the war, realizing their mistake. While it took longer than expected, Husnii did manage to end hostilities, and hold enough territory to satisfy their original goals, which is perhaps they only reason they were allowed to retain their command. However, the Imperium was dragged back into the war later, again and again, although at the time each incident was counted separately. Over the course of the prolonged mess, Husnii was promoted, sanctioned, exalted, and reprimanded in turn, although by the end of it their service both to the House and the Imperium at large had been demonstrated many times over.
Husnii was awarded the title of Grand Marshal in 3195, one day after the Imperium had been attacked by the Bright Compact. It was just as much punishment, however, as it was reward. As Grand Marshal, Husnii was now in charge of not just House Amaul forces, but the vast majority of Imperial ground forces at large, save Imperial and House elite units. Ten hard years later, Husnii carved a bitter truce out of the two warring super-powers. The Compact fleets had made inroads into Imperial territory, but Husnii's deep strike gambit had seized the capitol of the Compact itself. With their leadership under direct threat, the Compact agreed to a peace deal, and both sides have held a grudging respect for each other ever since.
The Jihad will no doubt be covered by much more in-depth files to come. Suffice to say Husnii continued to display strategic brilliance and tactical mastery even in the face of an enemy not bound by the typical rules of engagement. No commander who survived dealing with the Jihad did so with a sterling record, particularly ground commanders, but Husnii did well by the standards of the time. They were one of the first to realize the totality of the enemy they faced, not unlike the Mordtec Incident, and thus was one of the first to adopt the more extreme measures necessary to deal with the problems of the Jihad.
It is not known when their xenophiliac tendencies were first discovered, but they are well recorded by now. Husnii shows an extreme fascination with alien biology, both with regards to identifying useful genetic traits, and in a more general sexual nature. While the former is encouraged by the Imperium, and most certainly by the BAP, the latter is frowned upon by the Imperium, and down played by the BAP at all times. Despite these deviant behaviors, the skill and reputation of Husnii was such that House Amaul, and the Imperium at large, was willing to overlook them, provided Husnii show a modicum of restraint and subtlety. Traits which Husnii seems to keep in place, mostly.
IN BRIEF: Husnii is a brilliant tactician with a long service record. Do NOT underestimate their ability to anticipate, nor their ability to both plan and execute complex tactical and strategic maneuvers. While several avenues of potential leverage exist, loyalty to the Imperium and House Amaul are high, while potential counters are also high. Not a recommended target for the Foreign Service.
PERSONAL NOTE: No doubt some in command will notice I managed to make in-person contact with the subject on one occasion. For the record, this was not intentional. The Internal Affairs Agency decided to 'temporarily restrict access to classified documentation until proper authorization could be verified' for the fourth time that day and I... Lost my professional composure for a moment. I was observing the subject on a non-aligned trade outpost at the time, and my outburst garnered some attention.
For the record, while Husnii seems to keep a lid on their inter-species interests in areas of Aniathi high court, they are under no such obligation while out on the fringes. While their tactical record should speak for itself, they are also a quite good orator. The word 'flesh' has been forever ruined for me in use of any normal context outside of carnal relations.
I do not bring this up in an attempt to disturb any of my commanding officers or analysts who may be reading this dossier. I just want you to know how hard it was to turn them down.
