I'm sure as children we all knew of the works of the Grimm Brothers.

Well, one of my favorites was Hansel & Gretal/Gretel.
This is not meant to be painted as a masterpiece.
The shaky lines, scratchy look and monotone of the forest and the visual story on the lantern make it all that creepier.
(to me, atleast. >:)
The image is reversed, the trees on a white background show just how very dark the woods are.

the quote on the bottom says 'The woods are dark. Don't go alone.'
