Definitely. An opponent used to fighting right-handed people would be easier to defeat. This could lead to general deficiencies in swordplay though, because you'll become used to fighting opponents that are easier to take down. If this goes on long enough you'd be screwed in a fair fight.
True, but I still feel relying on something like that might cause bad habits, swordplay-wise. Just like a swordsman who's particularly tall might favor larger swords, and styles of swordplay based around taking advantage of reach and strength, but against a skilled opponent, who might better know how to deal with that sort of thing, they would be easily defeated. Basically, little tricks and properties like that are not the best thing to base your skills in combat around, because there's always the chance an opponent will see through it, and turn it into a disadvantage rather than an advantage. Limiting yourself by pursuing such an advantage almost exclusively is likely to get you killed.
Interesting fact: You know the spiraling staircases in castles? Typically, they spiral to the left. This is because most people are right handed, and thus an attacker ascending the stairs would have to deal with a wall in the way of their swing arc. Left handed people would even this, since they would also swing where there's more room *nod*
