Seeing important characters like Tails being relegated to an uninteresting NPC was disheartening.

It really is. It is very sad that Toad from the Mario series gets move love then Tails does. It just blows my mind how little attention is given to Tails and Knuckles, how should be getting allot more spotlight.

Tails & Knuckles are classic characters. You'd think two characters from some of the most beloved Sonic games would get more attention, but no.

Yeah it makes me sad to see a character like Toad from Mario getting more love then characters like Tails and Knuckles. If I were SEGA I'd be ashamed.

YES, BLESS YOU for writing that! as the massive Tails fan I am, it completely breaks my heart to see the way he's treated on the main franchise today... they took away from me the opportunity to play the character I love with all my heart, and when you think that, 10 years relying on this tragic mistake would be enough, he gets replaced by a character whose existance on the game doesn't even make sense (because you know, when heroes need help, they call themselves from the past to help them, RIGHT?!) and OC Generator because we've made so many characters we became horrible at character development! and if taking his playability away wasn't enough, lets enjoy and make him the cry-baby from the story who gave up!

Thank god Mania happened, hopefully will make these clowns at Sonic Team realize their mistake. Fantastic work with Tails though, he looks really cute!

I'm a little worried since we not heard anything at all about Tails in Forces. I really hated his treatment in the 3D games...its one of the reasons I moved away from the series. Tails was the whole reason I was into the fandom and his treatment just been so sad, I just had to pull away as I was so tried of always being let down.
Its sad that characters like Toad from Nintendo get more love then characters like Tails and Knuckles.

Well we didn't but somebody basically spoiled the entire game last year (including the OC shit), by his words "Tails has given up and only joins the fight after Sonic has been rescued", and I have literally no doubt this is exactly what happens on the game. And I agree entirely, not only they took away his playability, but all of his "relevance", be it by being "replaced" by example character (Chip in Unleashed, the Wisps since Colors, classic Sonic in Generations) or by being treated as nothing but the "gadget guy who makes stuff for the protagonist", you hardly see him getting much attention besides that... and frankly, I can't blame you from moving on from the series, no character in the main franchise these days is respected or appreciated besides Sonic and Shadow (aka Iizuka's little pet), all the other characters are like "just there", if they even appear in first place... and I feel like this is specifically a massive insult for Tails and Knuckles, who both deserve their own franchise for the longest time!

And yes, thank god for it, I'm beyond glad we finally get him to be playable and to be relevant again... because who knows, it may take another 50 years until we get to play as him again.

I'm so tired of the Tails is a coward crap...but at least its better then the rumor of him being killed. Still its really annoying, as Tails might be afraid...it makes sense he is a child, but he always stood up to that fear much like Luigi does. Once again it is one of the reasons I left the fandom, not worth the stress and aggravation.
I'll still always be a fan of Tails and one good thing about having a good imagination is I can just think of my own story and outcomes. I'll just treasure the games I get to play Tails in all his glory.

Its better then nothing which is what I thought was going to be the case after Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Mania seems to be the true Sonic 4. So at the very least its one more game in my lifetime.

Yeah I can't stand it either, Tails is not a coward much less the one who gives up... and to be honest, at this point I'm expecting that to happen on this game, it would be the cherry on top of the cake of shit this game will be. But yeah, it is beyond frustrating, Tails may be young but he has always stood up, specially when people were in danger. And yeah I know this feeling... I can't post anywhere that I hate Forces without a world of people coming at me telling that "I'm pessimistic", "I'm the only one hating", "YOU'RE WRONG" yada yada.
That's not a bad mindset at all, in fact it's a good one... if only we could actually get real Tails games, like Tails Adventure... that would be so wonderful.

Yes it is, and even better is that it's a game developed with a lot of heart and effort, by folks who know the franchise problems and are working to get it done right... and I think that E3 this year proved that. Maybe these folks in Japan could learn a thing or two with them.

That is another reason I left the fandom as allot of people in it are very rude and can not understand our feelings. Can't say I hate Forces as I've not played it, I just tried of seeing Tails character get wasted. I can't see why we can't get a game like the Mario and Luigi series...they could make an RPG based around Sonic and Tails...or something.
I find it so weird the the Rabbids have a better crossover with Mario then Sonic has had. They could made a game in the Mario and Luigi series "Mario and Luigi: Sonic and Tails" I love to see an RPG take on that. It be nice to see at least something were Tails is equal to Sonic...much like Luigi is equal to Mario.

Exaaaaaaaaactly, you can't voice your opinion. And even then, I feel like Forces doesn't even deserves the chance, I won't give a chance to something that humiliates my beloved character. Oh that's an interesting point, it would be a wonderful game, but Sonic Team will never make it, because they "fear" that nobody will care about Sonic if Tails is playable, and making an entire game that focuses on both characters and not only Sonic? pfffff, that's a thing we're not seeing in a million years sadly.

Red is a good color for Tails, goes nicely with him. Still I think blue works as well for him as well.

And I think the blue looks good too. It's a light and airy color, and suits someone who flies. But I remember when I used to draw him I gave him a red scarf. So it was just kind of me reminiscing a little.

Oh I agree he looks good in red. =) Most of the ones I did in the past he was wearing a red scarf as well. Next time I'll likely he him in his red scarf.

It's a "hero" color after all! Which is what he is! And that sounds good! Perhaps I'll draw him again someday.
