I drew this up as a commemorative thank you to all my blog followers. I still can't believe we hit 100 asks! Thanks to all the followers, askers, and fans for that.

Because of pending commission work I couldn’t make it as finalized as I wanted, but I think the hybridization of the color schemes is visually interesting. At least that’s what I’ll tell myself.

Some fun things to note I guess. It’s a beach scene obviously, but when it came to dressing the girls I dressed them to match what I felt was in their personality. So Dawn is in a one piece swimsuit with a skirt. A lot of artists put Judy in a bikini, but I thought considering her lifestyle and general no-nonsense character she’d probably have a athletic one piece, maybe something with the ZPD logo on it. Val’s the only one who would wear something skimpy because she doesn’t care, and in Zootopia considering things like the naturalist club and fur and so on on less mammals would even bat an eye. What I’m saying is they are all dressed for their personal comfort, as there’s no reason to show off.

Dawn and Vern’s outfits are also sort of a callback to old style swimwear. Like 1920′s stuff. Nick, in keeping with his horribly out of date fashion sense is wearing a hyper color tank top with an equally lame but possibly familiar slogan. (At least to some of you.)

Also Gus is buried up to his shoulders in sand thanks to Val. Not that he cares too much, as he’s fallen asleep.

My only real problem with this piece is looking at it now, I think Dawn is a bit over-sized. I’m pretty sure I usually make her smaller than that. Oh well, I suppose it’s to late now.

Anywho, thanks to all of you for your support and asks! You guys are great, and I’m glad you guys are getting as much joy out of this blog as I get out of making it. Thanks again.
