I always found that cows are the ultimate shoe cleaners. Much rougher tongues! lol

Now why either horses or cows want to lick boots... remains one of the universe's puzzles :)

If he's not licking my boots, he's licking my pants, or my arms, or my face... The weirdest thing is when I'm wearing shorts and he licks the back of my knees.

Well most of that is probably because you are salty... but I wouldn't think your boots are salty.
