Just a closeup of a harlequin roach. Sorry if these roach photos seem repetitive... I should be getting several more species in the mail soon from the mod of InsectGeeks.com. :D

Interesting... looks more like a cricket than a roach. To me, anyway. I'm no expert on bugs, that's for sure. What is also interesting to note is how the splotch pattern on it's head reminds me of lips. Weird.
Anyway, though, not a bad pic. Not my thing, but interesting. Lots of detail as well, which definitely catches the viewer's eye, in addition to the unusual shade of pallid green possessed by the subject.

Had an interesting roach encounter a few nights ago. Was poking around the kitchen looking for something to eat and heard a rustling sound under a table. Got a flashlight and checked it out, and it turns out it was 2 roaches in a tug-of-war over a stray piece of Cheerios. Not sure what species they were; they were about an inch long with wings going 3/4ths down their abdomens.
If they were black, they were possibly oriental roaches, blatta orientalis: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1550953/ And that sounds so cute, I've only lived in a house with roaches once, and though they're not exactly the best thing to have loose in your house... I always loved watching them and hearing them skitter around.
