This drawing has a little story to it. I almost bought an old 1969 Dodge Charger when I was in college. Thought about fixing it up and making my own replica of the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard.

Then, I thought maybe I shouldn't copy someone else's creation, and make something of my own. I drew this to visualize the painting scheme for my car. While you can see I did utilize a number of things from the General Lee, the number on the side was changed from a plain 01 to a "computer type" 03, and my car was to be painted metallic blue instead of the bright orange, with a black vinyl roof instead of the confederate flag.

Test drove it, liked it, but decided not to buy it. My parents and a female friend helped me make the sensible decision. Just wasn't the right timing, you know? Needed the money for school... was just starting school... and who was I buying it for, anyway? For myself, or to impress other people?

In any case, still a very cool car from the late 60s I would be proud to drive. Just saw one of these last weekend as a matter of fact, painted a beautiful metallic purple, cruising with the street rods!
