Ceiba, named for the mayan tree of life which connects all realms, alive and dead through it's over arching branches and roots. She's a caretaker, a guardian, and it would make sense that she would be named for that which cares for the people, body and soul, that created her species (The coatls being of Mayan and Aztec design, taking their name from Quetzecoatl)
and her being a Hermaphrodite sounds like a subtle nod, as trees can often have both male and Female reproductive systems, if my biology is right.
I like it. It certainly Fits better than just calling her Emerald for her Color and ability to sprout emerald spines from her Markings.
