something I often feel i'm in the minority in when it comes to inflation is the idea that there'd be a point where I'd willingly stop inflating the subject of choice, for me, the interaction between the inflated and non inflated subjects is what I enjoy most with inflation, so more often than not I will have an ideal size and shape I want to reach when inflating something, rather than just going on endlessly or until the subject reaches it's limits.
there are times where I like to do that, but more often than not I'm more interested in getting my subject of choice into a bloated state so I can engage with them, hold them, squeeze them, roll them around, and in general just take in their elastic, pliable form.

Interesting thoughts. I agree that people generally fall into two categories, or a mix of the two. There are the sensual types that have an interest in the texture and pliability of characters, which sometimes has some overlap with pooltoy or weight gain. Then there are the pressurephiles who are more into bursting or near-bursting situations where the character is pushed to a cathartic limit.
I'm part of the latter party but I understand a lot of people are actively turned off by popping. And I can appreciate how the sensual stuff is harder to draw since it often has two characters.

the psychology behind the appeal of both schools of thought towards inflation has always fascinated me. in a way it does present a fair bit of nuance behind our seemingly simple fetish, I'm not offended by popping but if given the choice I'd usually refrain from doing it.
nevertheless, something I've also been curious about is if these two schools of thought also influence other decisions, like what species is preferred for the event, what secondary fetishes come to play if any, and the kind of breaks from reality that we take on in order to fulfill these fantasies.

Yeah I'd rather engage the puffed rather than filling characters till their eyes pop out. I do like to know what their limits are, but I'd avoid popping unless they regen and it'd be faster to normalize them that way. (not out of a personal kink like others might do.) Even so I'd be reluctant.
