So I have a better after all.
I normally go indirect. Asking the wrong questions, getting the right assumptions.
I use a person's response to judge them and make predictions, some of which were just scary in accuracy.
You would seem to take a more direct approach. I find that a very convincing manner of approach.

i live by this wording.
I judge by whats inside not action.
It sorta takes a lot to make me angry so i love making new friends and i generally do as you say ask them random questions and other things to learn about them to make a more accurate assumption. but yes i do directly aatack the obvious trolls cause its just fun to make them think ok if i'm trolling why is this guy still chatting with me.

Can it be better said? I think not.
I can only add that I don't really make friends.
They're more like a clouded form of potential enemies to me, so I think of them as acknowledgments. Someone I can tip my hat off to at times, nothing more.
And as a wise person says, "Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer."
