This is the story of Serali, a very unusual child who grows up to be an even more unusual woman. Eventually she's going to change the whole world, and in this book she sees a good bit of it, but ultimately this first book is not about changing the world, but about finding your place in it.
In this chapter Serali learns about loss and sorrow. She finds out more about her past, and she begins to make plans for her future. This is the final chapter of Dragon Child. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Book Two, Dragon City, is being written, but it's a slow process, so don't hold your breath. Dragon Child took more than a decade to be completed, and while I don't expect Dragon City to take nearly so long, it probably won't be done for another year or so. But don't worry, I have plenty of other stories to tell, so stick around and keep reading.

Incredible! Such a good story! I...I don't know what to say! I'm a pretty good writter and plan to write a story like this (well, in the exception that magic and old times not my kind of story... Im more "today" and science kind) about dragons and that. Your writing style look a little like my own, so it catched my attention. My principal obstacle is the language, since I speak french, but with some time I can produce pretty good English texts! I first hope I will someday get to write this damn story I'm thinking of since a while and last but not least, I really hope it won't take a decade for you to write the second book!
Just great work, really!

This thing kept me reading for a long while nonstop. Thoroughly enjoyable. I usually prefer stories with trial ridden plots, as Serali is somewhat lonely and unsure of where she should be but doesn't encounter serious trials or opposition; this story though sucked me in by the quality of the writing itself and made every part interesting to read. You have built up massive pontential with this plot and I'm quite interested to see how this will turn out.
One thing that seemed to sort of jar the story in parts is long paragraphs of exposition. I personally didn't have a problem with it (reminded me of videogame exposition in ceratain RPGs when they want to fill in background), but generally speaking huge blocks like that have a tendency to bump the flow of the story. Other than that though no serious flaws jumped out at me.
I am very much looking forward to reading book two.

*flails* ok so I read this on your website I think, ages and ages and ages ago. Recently, I was browsing the web and I don't even remember what made me think of it, but thought to myself, "hey there was that story I read ages ago. I liked that. I wonder if I can find it again and I wonder if she finished."
So I searched and searched and couldn't remember what it had been called exactly and many things that were not that story came up on google. Then I tried to remember your SN and still! nothing. so then I tried to remember what the main character was called and that plus your SN magically found the story for me on the internet!
And then I saw you were on FA and LJ and all manner of places and I probably could have found it very easily if I'd searched more efficiently or something XD
TLDR: I really enjoyed this story. I'm happy to see you're continuing! I want to know what happens next :D Thank you very much for sharing it :) I really liked the worldbuilding you've done. I may be mistaken but I recall some things were slightly different from the very first time I read this (...in the late 90s?) anyway, I quite like it :D
