Dangerous Intimacy, fearful beauty.
This is actually an unfinished piece from...oooh looks like November of 2007. I have had various personal and health issues that have been keeping me fairly tied up and so there are a good few pieces sitting unfinished on my pc. This was one I suddenly felt the need to finish and I am happy I did so as I think it lit a well needed fire in me...or at least a flame anyway.
Thank you to all those that continue to follow this account and to give your valuable time to stop by and look at my work. You remind me why I should continue to share and create this work..
(The character depicted is my liger self/totem etc, though her features have shifted to become more Tigonish in nature.)

I am so happy you finished this! IT looks amazing! Beautiful expression and lighting.
My only teensy little crit would be that adding a few flecks of snow on the fur here and there(whiskers, chin, maybe a bit on the fur of the paws) would make the fact its crouched in the snow & being agressive a bit more believable, but it iis just a small detail. The piece does not crucially need it.

I actually did play around with that, for the reasons you listed, but I couldn't get it to look natural for whatever reason and my computer was not handling the huge file size and the undos redos well as it was ;D. I MAY still go back and try again, Ive been such a perfectionist with this piece it's crazy!
tis true. I suppose it's silly that I don't just change her species, but I think it's more or less just respecting her evolution as a character and retaining some of her original background. Or..something. Thank you for the comment hon, your felines are among my most favorite and so I am flattered to receive kind words from you!

the eyes look very much alive, and have an intense stare. I also was about to ask how you did the glittery snowcrystals, then I saw it is digital. :) silly me. :)

Oh wow! i love the really fine details like the fur on the wrinkles and the little bumps on the nose. Absolutely gorgeous! And for some reason i really like the added effect of the paws being sunken into the snow. its so simple of a thought, but it just adds so much tot he realism of the picture. very very nicely done ^^
The title pretty much explains it. Beautiful is the word, I would choose if I had to choose one to descibe this piece. The astonishing and the realistic coloring, shading and lighting make it another special piece in your space of special pieces. Especially the mouth, the tongue and teeth, the eyes and the facial fur....well ok the whole face look brilliant and almost like a photo. The details on the nose and tongue make it look a little wet and the great colors of the eyes and the retinal patterns give the eyes such an lifelike and realistic effect that I can just adore this artwork. It is also nice to hear that it helped you to restart your engines....at least a bit. I really hope that you feel better by now.
